ESEF Funding Application

In preparing your application, thoroughly plan your event and contact all vendors to be certain your plans are acceptable to them. Our office can advise you of steps to take and work with you, but will not make any arrangements for your event. Please note that we encourage faculty/advisors to attend but are unable to sponsor them. 

Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis each semester and applicants will be notified within a week after review on the status for funds. Please submit your application for ESEF two weeks in advance to guarantee enough time for review. Applicants will be considered until funds have been allocated in their entirety. In order to keep costs at a minimum, we ask that applications requesting funds for airfare be submitted two months prior to the event date. 

ESEF can fund:
  • Registration fees
  • Hotels
  • Case competitions 
  • UA Motorpool vehicle  
  • Airfare
  • Ground Transportation (taxi/shuttles/buses)
  • Networking/building connections
  • Events benefiting the Eller College 
  • Diversity initiatives 
  • Airbnb 
ESEF cannot fund:
  • Fundraisers
  • Scholarships
  • Personal meals
  • Uber/Lyft 
  • Gas for personal vehicle use 
  • Personal use items 
  • Prizes, awards, gifts, or gift cards

*These items should still be included in the budget to better understand the total costs for the request

Part of your request requires a submission of a well thought out, descriptive, and realistic budget. Please use the specific ESEF budget template link below to aid in determining the funding amount from ESEF. We are ONLY able to purchase on your behalf or to reimburse you.

Excellence fund is not able to "cut you a $400 check" the money must be specifically tied to an approved expense. Please reach out to us if you have any questions, we'd be happy to answer your questions and want your proposal to be successful!

Funding Details

Please specify all of the articles for which you are requesting funding. Be as detailed as possible in giving this information. (Our funding is usually allocated to registration fees and transportation costs, but we are willing to consider other costs as well.) A detailed spreadsheet of your budget for requested funds is required. 

Any unprofessional / incomplete budgets will not be considered for funding and a re-submission is required to be considered to receive aide from the Excellence Fund.


As part of the Application for Excellence Fund we are requiring that you submit a budget for your request. 


*applications without an emailed budget will not be reviewed. 

This will not affect whether of not we consider you for funding. We simply want to ensure that, if we are only able to partially fund you, you will still be able to attend your event.
