Step 2: Review & Meet Eligibility Requirements

Eller College of Management degree programs require professional admission to the individual majors.

In order to be eligible to apply for Professional Admission to the Eller College of Management, applicants must meet GPA, unit, and Foundation coursework requirements. Additionally, international/ESL students must also submit official proofs of high-level English proficiency (TOEFL/IELTS/CESL).

Transferability of our Business Foundation and General Education course requirements differs across out-of-state institutions. For information on how specific out-of-state credit will transfer to the University of Arizona, consult the UA Transfer Credit Guide. Additional information on English transfer credit can be found through the English Department Writing Program. For information on math transfer credit, please complete the Mathematics Math Transfer Credit Approval Form.

NOTE: California community college students can satisfy most of the UA’s General Education requirements with the completion of the Intersegmental General Education Transfer Curriculum (IGETC), with the possible addition of 1-2 laboratory science courses, a diversity emphasis course, and the second language proficiency.

A complete and detailed list of Professional Admissions Eligibility Requirements can be found HERE.

Step 3: Planning to Apply

Transfer students must first apply for admission to the University of Arizona. Please visit UA Admissions to learn how to apply and begin your application for UA admission as a transfer student. You should submit your application no earlier than one semester prior to your desired term of enrollment. Please review the application deadlines based on your desired starting semester.

Students who have not yet been accepted into the professional program enter Eller as pre-professional majors and work on general education and business foundation coursework. Many transfer students apply for professional admission during their last semester at a community college, while others transfer to the UA as pre-professional majors and apply to the professional program in a future semester.

The Eller Professional Admission application process is separate from the admission application to the University of Arizona and takes place at the beginning of the fall and spring semesters.

Step 4: Next Steps & Orientation

Transfer students admitted as pre-business majors are required to attend an Eller Transfer Orientation.

Once you are admitted to the University of Arizona and have a student ID number, you will be directed to complete the Next Steps and the transfer student academic preview: this is an online tutorial for newly admitted transfer students. After completing your Next Steps Center you can RSVP for an Eller Transfer Orientation session. Before signing up for a mandatory Eller College of Management transfer orientation, you must first pay your Enrollment Deposit and complete the Transfer Student Academic Preview through your Next Steps Center. Please complete this at least 48 hours before attending the Eller Transfer Orientation, as these two steps are what activates you for registration (matriculation).

During the in-person Eller Transfer Orientation you will learn more about the Eller requirements, involvement and professional development opportunities, and individually meet with an academic advisor to review your previous coursework and register in the appropriate courses. You will not be permitted to register for classes until you attend a mandatory Eller Transfer Orientation.

As part of the Next Steps Center completion, you will have the opportunity to RSVP for the UA University Transfer Welcome. Please not that this University Transfer Welcome is not required and is separate from the mandatory Eller Transfer Orientation. Advising and scheduling is not part of the University Transfer Welcome; however, students are encouraged to attend to learn more about the UA and available campus resources.

Note: Transfer students who earn Professional Admissions prior to attending the University of Arizona do not attend the Eller Transfer Orientation.
