The Eller Study Tour to Central America allows for students the opportunity to practically apply classroom ethics and business skills to real world international applications in Central America. This course will present several case studies of International Business and Business Ethics through guest lectures on topics such as eco-tourism, trade agreements, fair trade commodities and the ethical challenges of doing business in Costa Rica. Students will have the chance to go behind the scenes during the site visits and hear from business leaders in such places as Café Britt, Standard Fruit Co., and the Ministry of Finance.
This program will explore International Business Ethics through guest lectures, site visits, and excursions. Lectures will be offered from thought leaders on the ethical dimensions of trade agreements, eco-tourism, corporate social responsibility, and the ethical challenges and opportunities of doing business in Central America. You will have the opportunity to go “behind the scenes” through company site visits and hear from business leaders of corporations such as Café Britt, DOLE Fruit Co. and Grupo Pellas. All aspects of this course will be presented in English. This program also includes excursions to the Arenal Volcano, Puerto Viejo (Caribbean Coast), San Juan Del Sur, Nicaragua (Pacific Coast) and the islands of Boca Del Toro, Panama. During your program you will stay in local hotels with other UA students and participate in social and cultural activities such as Latin dance and snorkeling.

The Eller Study Tour to Central America is affiliated with Cultural Experiences Abroad (CEA). The mission of CEA is to create and facilitate opportunities for personal growth and global understanding through quality international education and cultural experiences. To do this, CEA focuses on the 'service first' experience, which includes providing personal attention to students before, during and after their experience abroad.

Students will receive three (3) undergraduate units. For Eller students, these credits will be applied towards the Ethics requirement that students have to complete prior to graduating.Students must be enrolled in MGMT 202 to participate.
Students working on completing the Global Business Program (GBP) can apply these three credits earned towards the GBP. Honors students may also use these three credits towards their required units for graduating with honors.
