Pre-Professional Program Course Registration

Pre-Business Foundation Courses

Updated as of March 15, 2018.

ACCT 200 –  Open in UAccess to Pre-Business students only.  If any seats remain after Priority Registration, they will open to non-Eller majors.  Open until full on UAccess, at which time a waitlist will be opened in eSMS under the Requests option.

Please note:  Minor students should consider taking ACCT 250 rather than ACCT 200.

ACCT 210 –  Open in UAccess to all students.  Open until full on UAccess, at which time a waitlist will be opened in eSMS under the Requests option.

Please note: The prerequisite for ACCT 210 is ACCT 200 (Financial Accounting). Students not meeting the prerequisites will be dropped from ACCT 210 prior to the start of the semester.

BCOM 214  Open in UAccess to Pre-Business students only.  BCOM 214 is designed to be taken the semester in which a student is applying for Professional Admission, so the prerequisites for the course are ACCT 200 and BNAD 276.

Please note:  The prerequisite for BCOM 214 is ACCT 200 (Financial Accounting) and BNAD 276 (Business Statistics). These prerequisites are being enforced in UAccess. Students who are not currently enrolled or have have not already completed ACCT 200 and BNAD 276 at the UA will not be eligible to register for BCOM 214 through UAccess. If you have transfer credit or are planning on taking ACCT 200 and/or BNAD 276 over Summer, please email your advisor with proof of your enrollment at least one week prior to your Priority Registration Enrollment time. The advisors will then approve your eligibility in UAccess so you will have access to the available seats in BCOM 214 during your Priority Registration time.

BNAD 276 – This class is now full through UAccess, and waitlists for each section are open in eSMS under the Requests option.  Students can indicate their preferred section(s) through the eSMS waitlists; however, the priority is to ensure that eligible students are enrolled.

Please note: The prerequisite for BNAD 276 is Math 116 (Business Calculus; or a different approved Calculus course).  Students not meeting the prerequisites will be dropped from BNAD 276 prior to the start of the Spring semester.

BNAD 277 - Open in UAccess to Pre-Business students only.  If any seats remain after Priority Registration, they will open to non-Eller majors.  Open until full on UAccess, at which time a waitlist will be opened in eSMS under the Requests option.

Please note: The prerequisite for BNAD 277 is Math 116 (Business Calculus) and BNAD 276 (Business Statistics). These prerequisites are being enforced in UAccess. Students who are not currently enrolled or have have not already completed BNAD 276 at the UA will not be eligible to register for BNAD 277 through UAccess. If you have transfer credit or are planning on taking BNAD 276 over Winter, please email your advisor with proof of your enrollment at least one week prior to your Priority Registration Enrollment time. The advisors will then approve your eligibility in UAccess so you will have access to the available seats in BNAD 277 during your Priority Registration time.

ECON 200 – Open for registration to all majors until the sections are full. If the course reaches maximum enrollment, students should attend the first day of class and continue to check UAccess in case enrolled students drop prior to the start of the semester. No waitlist will be held.
MATH 116 – Open for registration until the classes are full. Students should contact the Math Department for information about registration if it is not available via UAccess. The Math Department number is 621-6892. Please note that the Math Department will audit the enrollment for MATH 116 prior to the start of the semester and drop any students who do not meet the prerequisite.

MIS 111 – All seats in MIS 111 are reserved for incoming Freshmen and Transfer students during the Fall semesters.  We do not anticipate any available seats after incoming students have been accommodated, but a waitlist will be opened in eSMS under the Requests option, in the unlikely event that we are able to accommodate requests at the end of summer.

Please note:  Minor students should consider taking MIS 111 in a future Summer or Spring semester, or can take CIS 120 through Pima Community College.

MIS 112 – (Previously MIS 111L) All seats in MIS 112 are reserved for incoming Freshmen and Transfer students during the Fall semesters.  We do not anticipate any available seats after incoming students have been accommodated, but a waitlist will be opened in eSMS under the Requests option, in the unlikely event that we are able to accommodate requests at the end of summer.

Please note:  Minor students are not required to take MIS 112.
