Course Resources and Tutoring Options

The University of Arizona and The Eller College of Management offer several options for course resources and campus tutoring.

Eller Pre-Business Foundation Courses

The courses below are all Pre-Business Foundation courses used to calculate the foundation GPA as well as required in order to apply to Professional Admissions.

ENGL 101/ENGL 102

  • The Writing Center offers 15 min drop-ins for single issues, ideas, etc.
  • The Writing Center offers 30 min appointments meant to help clarify assignments, if you have several aspects you would like to discuss or need overall help on assignments.
  • The Writing Center offers 1 hour appointments for larger projects or questions, or if you need more time with a tutor or more in depth questions and answers.
  • The Writing Center offers online tutoring.
  • The Think Tank offers private tutoring sessions for $24 an hour and group tutoring for $14 an hour.
  • You are strongly encouraged to visit your English Professor during Office Hours, generally designated on the syllabus or D2L for your course.  This is a free opportunity to ask your professor direct questions, clarify assignment expectations, and get feedback on drafts of your writing.

MIS 111/MIS 111 Lab

  • The Think Tank offers online tutoring through a free weekly review as well as private tutoring for $24 an hour.

Professor Neumann recommends the following:

  • Meet with faculty and teaching assistants on a regular basis or when in need.
  • Form study groups with other students in the course.
  • Attend Flex Labs for additional help and guidance.
  • Attend the above weekly Think Tank review.
  • Ask course professors for contact information of Zipperman Scholars for possible tutoring opportunities.

MATH

  • The Think Tank offers drop in tutoring which is a free service and does not have a time limit and therefore is handled on a first come first serve basis.
  • The Think Tank offers online tutoring which is also a free service and handled the same as above, but excludes MATH 116 - Calculus for Business majors.
  • The Think Tank offers tutoring by appointment which is either Private ($24 an hour) or Group ($14 an hour).
  • The Think Tank offers Exam Preps which are 2 hour course specific preps.
  • For Math 100, you can visit Pascal's in the Integrated Learning Center room 140 for assistance specifically related to Math 100.  Pascal's is generally open noon to 6PM Monday-Thursday during Fall and Spring semesters.

BNAD 276

Professor Delaney recommends the following:

  • There are about 10 Graduate Teaching Assistants available for tutoring and this can be found in the class syllabus.
  • There are pre-exam tutoring sessions that are taught by professionals or former teaching assistants. These sessions have a minimal fee per student.

BNAD 277

  • Instructors hold office hours twice a week.
  • Preceptors hold office hours at 8 different times during the week.
  • Review sessions are held outside of class time before every exam for an additional fee.
  • Tutors are available outside of the normal office hours and a list of tutors can be provided upon request.
  • Most of the above information can be found in the syllabus. Review sessions are posted as an announcement as the dates and times are subject to change.

ECON 200

  • The Think Tank offers drop in tutoring which is a free service and does not have a time limit and therefore is handled on a first come first serve basis.
  • The Think Tank offers tutoring by appointment which is either Private ($24 an hour) or Group ($14 an hour).
  • Professor holds weekly office hours.
  • Teaching Assistants and Preceptors hold weekly office hours.
  • Review sessions are offered the week before an exam. Dates and times are posted in Blackboard.
  • Professor Reff - provides 2 folders where students can ask questions related to class and curriculum and will get a response within 24 hours.
  • Professor Mateer - utilizes adaptive learning through InQuizitive.

ACCT 200

  • The Think Tank offers drop in tutoring which is a free service and does not have a time limit and therefore is handled on a first come first serve basis.
  • The Think Tank offers tutoring by appointment which is either Private ($24 an hour) or Group ($14 an hour).
  • At the beginning of the semester, students can opt into the optional Accounting lab. Please see instructor for more information
  • The Accounting department offers a list of private tutors.
  • Beta Alpha Si offers tutoring services which are free and exam reviews that have a minimal fee. Details are posted and discussed in D2L.

ACCT 210

  • The Think Tank offers drop in tutoring which is a free service and does not have a time limit and therefore is handled on a first come first serve basis.
  • The Think Tank offers tutoring by appointment which is either Private ($24 an hour) or Group ($14 an hour).
  • Teaching Assistants hold office hours that are posted in Blackboard.
  • Professor Altman will sometimes recommend upper division Accounting students as tutors if they are available. Please check with Prof. Altman to see if tutors are available.
