Spring Graduation Events

Eller College Graduation Convocation

McKale Center
Friday, May 16th, 2008
5:00 pm (usually lasts an hour and a half)

Guests DO NOT need to purchase tickets to attend. This event is open to any and all friends and family of Eller College graduating seniors.

Student registration will be located directly in front of the ticket office on the South side of McKale Center and begin at 4:00 pm to allow early seating of guests. The event will begin at 5:00 pm. Students MUST register prior to entering McKale in order to be recognized personally, on stage, during the ceremony.

Students are encouraged to dress professionally and wear any awards, such as cords for Beta Gamma Sigma or graduating from the honors college or your leadership stole from your student organization. Typical attire for guests is nice/casual. All students will sit in the student section on the floor of McKale and will be recognized individually in the order that you are seated. Graduating seniors may sit near friends that are also graduating in any order.

Parking should be available in the Cherry Avenue Garage from 3:30 and on. Please be aware that parking in the zone 1 parking lots may be monitored until 5 pm. For a campus map, please visit http://parking.arizona.edu/pdf/maps/campus.pdf

In order to be recognized as a graduating senior at this event, all students must submit the Convocation Web Form sometime between Tuesday, April 1st and Tuesday, May 6th. This allows students a 4 week time period to submit information and a quote to be displayed while being recognized on stage. An email will be sent via the Spring Grad Listserv when the web form is available for students to access.

To compete the on-line college survey and Convocation Form, please follow these directions:

• Go to http://ugrad.eller.arizona.edu
• Click on the "eSMS ADVISING APPOINTMENT" logo (you do not need to schedule an appointment to complete this process)
• Log in using your student id and pin # and click LOGIN
• When you get to the Undergraduate Scheduling System, there should be a tab at the top titled "CONVOCATION". Click here
• Follow the instructions from this point to submit your information. To complete this web form, you will be asked to complete an on-line senior survey as well.
• This must be done by 5 pm on Tuesday, May 6, 2008.

The Eller Ambassadors will be selling flowers for graduates or families before and after the ceremony.

University-wide Commencement Ceremony

McKale Center
Saturday, May 17th, 2008
Graduates must assemble in Bear Down Gym at 8:30 am and the ceremony begins at 9:00 am.

This event is also open to anyone to attend. No tickets are required for guests. All graduates wishing to participate must be wearing a cap, gown, and tassel which can be purchased through The University of Arizona Bookstore.

If you are interested in purchasing graduation announcements, you can purchase announcements at The University of Arizona Bookstore or at Fast Copy in the Student Union (http://www.union.arizona.edu/fastcopy/announcements/index.php).
