WHAT IS THE WOMEN'S LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE?
In its seventh year, the Women's Leadership Conference (WLC) is gathering outstanding women from the Eller College of Management, the College of Engineering, the College of Science and the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. The event is specially designed to offer female students a unique interdisciplinary opportunity to develop their leadership skills through exposure to industry leaders and "real world" team experience.
CONFERENCE GOALS
Below are the goals that the WLC 2009 wishes to meet for the attendees:
• Create Vision: To expose conference participants to women leaders and encourage students to visualize themselves in such roles to begin expanding their horizons
• Offer Insight: To create an open discussion forum that provides valuable insight into leadership and career matters that students are facing
• Gain Experience: To involve students in team-building and networking experiences that emphasize the importance of group work skills and effective communication
• Implement Plan: To provide students with the necessary application skills to take their knowledge and translate it into a workable plan for success
