What is Spirit Day?
Spirit Day is a one-day teaching experience
in an elementary classroom. Throughout the day, collegiate
students facilitate five 20-30 minute lessons with
materials provided by Junior Achievement. This curriculum
is designed to teach elementary students the relevance
of education to the workplace as well as to prepare
them for secondary school and lifelong learning.
Who can volunteer?
Any Eller College undergraduate students
are encouraged to sign up. Participants earn 10 hours
of community service for involvement and the opportunity
to directly impact the Tucson community.
Volunteers must be available for
the entire day, but are welcome to sign up with a partner.
Breakfast will
be provided along with light refreshments at the
end of the day. All volunteers are encouraged to bring
a lunch to eat with the students.
When is the event?
There are 2 spirit days planned for
the Fall semester. You are required to be present for the entire spirit day.
