Colleen Quirk

Colleen Quirk is the first University of Arizona student to be admitted into Eller College with direct admission. Colleen is a second semester freshman who will begin the professional program in the fall of 2008, as a Management major. Colleen is from Golden, Colorado and chose to attend Eller because of the high rank of the Professional Business Program and, of course, due to the warm weather in sunny Arizona. Colleen is a member of Eller Scholars and the Blue Chip Leadership Program, and has completed an internship at a medical supply company. She enjoys leadership and has chosen a major in which she can utilize these skills in business.

The interview process associated with direct admission allowed Colleen to meet with Judy Boros, a professional in the management field. Colleen says this process was very rewarding by allowing her a “personal interview experience,” complete with feedback and positive criticism throughout the meeting. She now feels confident to provide responses beyond face value in future interview experiences. Colleen used this opportunity to explore ways to apply personal experiences to business and to remain a well-rounded student at Eller College.
