Direct Admission

Direct Admission is a program designed to encourage honors students to take foundation courses at the University of Arizona.

Students qualify for Direct Admission if they:

  • Maintain a minimum 3.5 cumulative GPA at the time of application
  • Take all of the foundation courses at the UA
  • Are on track for first level honors

Students will still be eligible if they have credit for foundation courses through AP/IB/CLEP as well as any dual enrollment taken through a college or university while still in high school. Students who meet the above criteria will be guaranteed:

  • Professional admission
  • First choice of major
  • Professional Admission interview by someone in their field of interest

This program begins with students admitted as Non-Transfer Freshman for the Fall of 2007. Click here to learn about the first student to be part of the Direct Admission program.

Any questions concerning eligibility for Direct Admission should be directed to Dave Wietecha at wietecha@eller.arizona.edu.
